Even though I am 36, I am a newborn in the world of gender politics. I am currently reading Sexing the Body by Anne Fausto-Sterling and learning rapidly about the history of gender politics, intersexuality, and transsexuality and transgenderism in Western culture.
Today, I learned for the first time about the International Bill of Gender Rights.
I'm very excited to have access to this 1995 document and to learn that activists and advocates like myself were working on such groundbreaking writings when I was a high school senior. I hope we can breathe new life into this document and re-declare these rights as we seek equality for ALL genders beyond the male-female dichotomy.
